This program will discuss the use of antipsychotic medications in the treatment of behavioral and psychiatric symptoms of dementia (BPSD). Learners will be presented with guidelines for use of these medications in the elderly population. Alternatives to antipsychotic agents and criteria for use will also be presented.

Dr. Stacey Pascoe is originally from Butte, Montana and obtained her PharmD from the University of Montana. Dr. Pascoe completed further training to become Board Certified in Psychiatric Pharmacy (BCPP) during her 5 years working as a pharmacist at the Montana State Hospital (MSH). Dr. Pascoe is also a clinical pharmacist practitioner (CPP) and currently works within the Behavioral Health Department and the Geriatrics Team at Bozeman Health. She prescribes and manages medications with a team of psychiatrists, geriatricians, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and geriatric nurse practitioners.
